About the role

Kingsford Lawyers' is seeking an ambitious and driven Family Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in our Ashmore, QLD office. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team of experienced lawyers, providing invaluable assistance with a variety of legal matters. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a thriving law firm environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support lawyers in preparing cases, drafting documents, and providing advice to clients
  • Assisting with the preparation of legal documents and court filings
  • Managing and organising client files, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely follow-up on tasks
  • Coordinating with clients, external parties, and other stakeholders to gather information and facilitate the legal process
  • Providing administrative support to the team, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence
  • Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and contributing to the overall success of the firm
  • Opening and closing files
  • Preparing briefs to Counsel and Report Writers
  • Undertake administrative tasks including data entry, invoicing, file management, conflict checking, monitoring relevant email inboxes
  • General office duties including filing and kitchen

What we're looking for

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in law, legal studies, or a related administration field
  • 2 - 3 years of experience working as a Family Law Paralegal or in a similar legal support role
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in using legal research databases and MS Office applications
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Have the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively to work within tight time frame
  • Ability to prioritise under pressure and remain adaptable
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Have a meticulous eye for detail and accurate proof-reading skills
  • A genuine interest in the legal industry and a willingness to learn and grow within the firm
