About the team

The Transport Maintenance Team is an internal service provider to all Asset Custodians throughout the whole of the City and provides comprehensive maintenance on the City's infrastructure including, roads, storm water drainage, and foreshores.

About your new role

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate hands-on proficiency, leadership, and project management skills. The Leading Hand plays a crucial role in improving the visual charm and safety of the Gold Coast, making it the ideal place to live, work, visit, and play.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform skilled and specialist tasks associated with the maintenance of the City's waterways.
  • Program various projects and calculate quantities of materials required.
  • Coordination of work schedules and time frames with remote supervision.
  • Operating iPads for managing work orders, data collection, record keeping and communication.
  • Work in accordance with the City's policies and procedures.
  • Undertake administrative duties as required including timesheets, basic calculations, risk assessments and proactive maintenance sheets.

We're looking for people who have:

  • RMDL Recreational Marine Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
  • MR Class Drivers Licence Unrestricted (Mandatory)
  • General Construction Induction White Card (Mandatory)
  • Coxswain Grade 3 (Desired)
  • Work Safely at Heights (Desired)
  • Certificate III in Construction (Mandatory or already enrolled)
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
