Senior Occupation Therapist (Level 3) – The Forensic Hospital, Malabar - PFT

The Role
The Senior Occupational Therapist works closely with the Functional Recovery Team Leader to provide senior clinical leadership within Occupational Therapy. The Senior Occupational Therapist contributes to service provision through optimisation of patient/client care delivery by leading quality initiatives and supporting, mentoring and developing Occupational Therapist and other staff within the Forensic Hospital and wider Forensic Mental Health system.
The Senior Occupational Therapist is expected relieve the Functional Recovery Team Leader during periods of leave.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor or post graduate degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
- A minimum of 3 years clinical experience with demonstrated clinical expertise in mental health setting
Our Location, Team, and Service
The Forensic Hospital
is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional, and high-risk civil patients.
A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals provide care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.
While working at the Forensic Hospital, you will develop strong professional connections with colleagues and making a positive contribution to vulnerable people. This dynamic work environment is interesting, stimulating, challenging, rewarding and one where you can have a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families.
A mandatory and comprehensive two-week, full-time orientation is provided. All days are paid. The next intake date is on 24 November last Orientation for year 2025) and in February 2026 (date to be confirmed).
