Senior Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer 

Location: Sydney CBD/Hybrid

Duration: 6-month contract

Daily Rate: $650–$750 + Super (pending final approval)

Start Date: ASAP

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join a high-profile government infrastructure project team. This role is critical to supporting the development of strategic business cases for major transport initiatives, including multi-billion-dollar public transport extensions in Western Sydney.

You'll work within a dynamic environment, engaging with key government, council, and community stakeholders, and contributing to transformative infrastructure projects that will shape the future of the city.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for major infrastructure projects.
  • Track, coordinate, and report on stakeholder engagement activities across significant programs.
  • Provide insights into key stakeholder relationships, emerging issues, and opportunities.
  • Offer strategic communications advice and manage sensitive political and community concerns.
  • Coordinate media activities, ministerial briefings, and government interface tasks.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Media, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing engagement strategies within large infrastructure or government projects.
  • Ability to manage politically sensitive situations and develop strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Strong reporting, briefing, and strategic communications capabilities.
