This is a full-time position, based on-site at our Head Office & Manufacturing facility in Port Melbourne, located centrally to Melbourne CBD and major freeways.

About the role

We are seeking a suitably qualified, motivated, and reliable Assistant Accountant to join our Head Office team in Port Melbourne.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, duties to be performed include:

  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and daily cashflow
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting GL and accrual journals
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly reports
  • Assisting in Year End financial reporting, statutory compliance & lodgement
  • Assisting with annual audits
  • BAS preparation
  • Process payments through online banking
  • Assisting the Accounts team with timely and accurate data entry
  • Supporting the Accounts team with completing various ad hoc tasks as required

About you

To be successful for this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting (plans to study or currently studying CPA or CA advantageous)
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Accountant/Assistant Accountant (desired but not a required - graduates welcome to apply)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders across all levels
  • Excellent administration skills - intermediate excel skills
  • A genuine desire to grow and develop long term in a business that provides long term career opportunities
