More than half of Queensland's international trade, by volume, passes through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay, and Hay Point, which makes us one of Queensland's largest Port Authorities. We take great care to provide safe, and competitive seaport services to efficiently facilitate imports and exports through our Queensland ports.

Reporting to the Senior Business and Systems Analyst, you will identify, analyse, and define business needs, supporting system configuration and report development to deliver effective, data-driven solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure business processes and systems are optimised.

Key responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to identify and define project objectives and business requirements.
  • Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process modelling to capture detailed requirements and translate them into actionable functional specifications.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, documentation, and reporting frameworks to support informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate and support system improvements, including user experience enhancements and Enterprise Resource Planning configuration.
  • Collaborate with project teams to plan, test, and implement solutions that meet business and user expectations.
  • Develop and update policies, procedures, and training materials to support business improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, tracking progress, and reporting on outcomes in line with NQBP's project management standards.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience with cross-functional business practices and processes to provide appropriate improvements for business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience with creating business process maps using Business Process Model and Notation standard 2.0 standard and proficient with process mapping software solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with integration and configuring ERP systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation, including business requirements, process flows, reports, and user manuals.
