At Peak Management and Consulting, we partner with registered training organisations (RTOs) across Australia to deliver tailored management, compliance, and shared services that simplify operations and drive success. We've supported both domestic and international student-focused RTOs with ethical, bold, and client-centric solutions — and now, we're looking for a Financial Accountant who shares our passion for building better business.
The Role
As a Financial Accountant at Peak, you'll be a key player in delivering end-to-end financial and management reporting across the company and our clients. You'll take ownership of financial governance, ensure data integrity, and help streamline financial systems. This is more than just a numbers role — it's a chance to deliver insights that support our clients to thrive, while contributing to a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and making a difference.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaise with external accountants on BAS, IAS, income tax, and payroll tax obligations
- Review client P&Ls and Balance Sheets; analyse and present variance insights
- Manage corporate insurance coverage for both Peak and its clients
- Complete month-end GL reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc.)
- Reconcile revenue recognition and payroll GL accounts monthly
- Support with cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Assist in budgeting processes and external audits for RTO clients
- Serve as back-up for payroll and ensure payroll data integrity
- Conduct monthly client review meetings
- Oversee timely preparation and review of management and statutory report
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to continuously improve financial processes
Essential skills and experience
- A degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline (CA or CPA)
- Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and analysis
- Familiarity with financial systems like NetSuite or Employment Hero
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including external auditors and RTO clients
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent time management
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Prior experience in or understanding of the RTO/VET sector (highly desirable)
