About the opportunity
Australia Post is improving the way we transact with the customers that use us for delivery services. We are recruiting a product owner to support the development and delivery of the future state customer offering within our core product suite. You will play a critical role in contributing to the success of the product portfolio, through your collaboration, insight and execution.
As the custodian of this product suite you will be responsible for defining and prioritising the squad backlog, approving the working product and ensuring the right work is delivered in the right order to meet the needs of the business.
You will be working closely with business analysts, functional leads, architects and the development team. Defining features, epics, making day-to-day decisions and participating in agile ceremonies.
In this role you'll be empowered to make informed decisions quickly on features and epic scopes and make improvements based on data and stakeholder input.
What you'll deliver with us
This is a role like no other in which you can help develop and role out a core product offering in one of the largest businesses in Australia. You will manage products, responsibilities and stakeholders in a deliberative and patient way in order to push forward along the roadmap towards future-state.
You'll build rapport with key stakeholders and as a fulcrum between different stakeholders as the custodian of the product. Within a large, matrixed organisation you will be able to build consensus.
You'll also

- Approve the working product.
- Approve user stories.
- Support UAT, change & Training.
- Ensure the delivery meets the needs of the business.
- Work across product, go-to-market, pricing, operations, marketing, data, product engineering, finance, sales & legal teams to gather consensus.
- Work through a delivery framework consisting of stages around: initiation, discovery, elaboration, build (front of house), build (back of house), testing & release.
About you
You will be a collaborative and customer-oriented product owner who has acted as a custodian of a core product before with success. You will be adept at aligning stakeholders towards a common outcome.
You'll also need
- Experience in supporting product delivery, development and contributing to end-to-end product lifecycle management.
- A demonstrated ability to build collaborative and productive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- An understanding of the product value chain and it's key drivers.
How we'll deliver for you
- A unique opportunity to help drive improvements in products that have a direct positive impact on the eCommerce delivery market in Australia.
- A role in which you will be given the trust, authority & autonomy to help drive change and succeed.
- A position that will give you a future springboard as a key leader within our business who lands important changes and enables our future growth, leading to progression opportunities for you through your career with Australia Post.
