Maintenance Fitter

• Rotating 12hour shifts -7d ays/7 nights in a four-week rotation
• 2 weekends per month
• Starting rate of $2,811 gross per week, including penalties and overtime + other allowances as applicable

The Role
Our Ridge street site services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renown Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger slice cheeses and an exciting new Lactose and Dairy Free range.

We're seeking a proactive and reliable Mechanical Technician to help keep our production equipment running at peak performance. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact safety, quality, and efficiency.

Please note: This role operates on a rotating roster, including days, nights, and weekends - perfect for those who enjoy variety and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety
• Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs
• Supporting new equipment installations and providing technical input during commissioning
• Maintaining high standards of safe work practices and compliance

About you

• Cert III in Mechanical Engineering - Fitting & Turning (welding and fabrication experience highly valued)
• Experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG environments is preferred
• Additional tickets, such as Confined Space, Boiler Ticket, and Working at Heights, are a bonus
• Comfortable using MEX or similar CMMS systems, with solid communication and teamwork skills
• A positive, can-do attitude, reliability, and a strong team spirit
