the position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Rail and Intermodal Park Manager with the coordination and overseeing day to day movements of rail vehicles within the Forrestfield Rail Yard to ensure all operations are executed on time and safely.
  • Ensuring maximum productivity is achieved through dedicated and informed planning.
  • Take reasonable and practicable actions to verify and ensure rail activities comply with relevant rail legislation, and company policies, procedures, safe working method standards and rules.
  • Initiate incident reports and rollingstock equipment failure reports as required.
  • Participate in Risk Assessments, inspections and operational meetings as required relating to the SCT Rail and Intermodal operations.
  • Apply rail safe-working rules and procedures.
  • Activate SCT emergency response plans when required. Respond to notifiable rail safety occurrences.
  • Communicate the train movements with multiple stakeholders.
  • Maintain operations logs, prepare, and issue shift operations reports
Desired Skills and Experience

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Essential

  • Medically fit to work within a rail safety environment
  • Must possess a valid WA driver's license and unrestricted Australian Work Rights
  • Be able to multitask and prioritise workstreams
  • 2-3 years previous experience in Transport, Warehousing, Rail Freight Operations would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated high administrative skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management within the business.
