Requirements
As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, billing accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of financial systems. Your role will actively support budgeting processes, drive automation initiatives, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices. You will play a critical role in enhancing financial efficiency, supporting cross-functional teams, and contributing to an improved client experience and overall organisational performance. Additionally, your responsibilities will include comprehensive financial planning, processing, analysis, and reporting specifically focused on Community Services and Residential finance areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the Chart of Accounts (COA), ensure ERP systems (e.g., EPICOR, UKG) are current, and support reporting and compliance requirements
- Develop new and automated reporting formats that meet business and Board requirements, including dashboard, graphs and trend analysis
- Analyse and provide recommendations on trends, insights and opportunities
- Maintain the term deposit investment portfolio
- Assist with training in financial reporting and budgeting as required to program managers
- Train staff and relevant stakeholders on financial system functionalities and best practices, offering ongoing support and guidance
- Ensure tight end of month process and procedures are in place and monitored for all subsidiary ledgers of Accounts payable / receivable and payroll / salary packaging
Summary
- Relevant qualifications in business and/or accounting
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or finance-related roles
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and compliance requirements
- Sound knowledge of financial controls, audit preparation, and month-end processes
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel)
