About the role

As a Student Work Experience Coordinator at our well established Adelaide Institute, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating meaningful work experience opportunities for students. This full-time position (or 0.8 part time) is based in our Adelaide, SA office and will involve collaborating with industry partners to secure and manage enriching placements that support our students' skills development.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain relationships with a diverse range of industry partners to identify suitable work experience opportunities for students
  • Communicating confidently and professionally, influencing and adapting to a variety of situations and opportunities
  • You'll enjoy being in a busy environment, and work capably using excel and placement booking systems.
  • Match students to appropriate work experience placements based on their individual interests and career goals
  • Provide guidance and support to students before, during and after their work experience placements, including trouble shooting when challenges occur from time to time
  • Liaise with employers to ensure placements meet learning objectives and provide valuable real-world experience
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of work experience programs, making improvements as needed to processes and practices, policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the wider student support team to promote the work experience program and encourage student participation.

  • Significant experience in customer relations and/or student support, preferably in a career development or work experience learning context
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with students, employers and internal stakeholders
  • Confidently able to represent the institute, develop and nurture partnerships with employers
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple placements simultaneously
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of work experience in supporting student success and employability
  • Passion for education and a commitment to enhancing the student experience.
