Catering Staff – Proserpine Nursing Home 

Proserpine Nursing Home, located in the picturesque Whitsundays, is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate catering staff to join our team and help us deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to our residents. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with meal preparation and plating, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and resident preferences.
  • Work closely with the Catering Manager to follow detailed preparation instructions for food.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support the delivery of meals to residents in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Help with stock control and inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and care staff to meet residents' needs.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Stay up to date with relevant training on food handling, storage, and safety procedures to ensure the highest standards are met.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, or food service role is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • A friendly, approachable, and caring attitude towards the elderly.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Level 1 Food Safety Certificate.
