Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Catering Team, including rostering staff efficiently within budget.
  • Implement and maintain an accredited Food Safety Program.
  • Oversee the provision of quality food services across the Home.
  • Ensure residents' dietary needs are met regarding preparation, presentation, delivery, and choice.
  • Facilitate communication between kitchen staff and care teams regarding residents' diets.
  • Plan and implement menus reviewed by a dietitian.
  • Manage food ordering, delivery, and storage within budget.
  • Maintain all equipment in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and legislative standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, Food Act 2006, and other relevant food safety legislation.
  • Develop and oversee cleaning schedules and infection control practices.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (minimum).
  • Experience working as a chef, preferably in aged care or similar settings.
  • Diploma of Hospitality Management or Hospitality is desirable.
  • Current Police Check (must not preclude working in aged care).
  • Mandated vaccinations, including participation in annual vaccination clinics or providing medical evidence if applicable.
  • Comfortable wearing N95 masks daily.
