The Engineering team is essential in ensuring seamless system interoperability and enhancing operational efficiency across the organisation. The Engineering team collaborates to provide the successful candidate with a great knowledge base of the company and the broader financial services industry.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering, analysing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide actionable insights that support Eightcap's strategic goals. Collaborating closely with business units across the organisation, you will develop robust reporting solutions, ensure data integrity and accuracy, and empower teams to make informed decisions, optimise processes, and enhance overall business performance. This role involves leveraging AI to enhance reporting, predictive analytics and automated insights to enable the organization to make faster, data-driven decisions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial-focused and analytically minded professional to join the Data Team and contribute to delivering long-term goals through meaningful reports, analysis, insights, and AI driven recommendations that drive performance and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders across multiple business departments to identify analytics and AI-driven insights requirements.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end development and implementation of QuickSight dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Translate the needs and requirements of various business units into clear technical specifications for internal data engineers incorporating AI models where necessary.
  • Use AI techniques to enhance decision making process
  • Knowledge of gradient boosting decision trees essential for model development and prediction.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor both new and existing dashboards to ensure ongoing data accuracy and relevance.
  • Respond promptly to ad-hoc data requests (including AI analytics), providing timely support to day-to-day business operations
  • Mentor and support other business analysts within the organisation, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing and adoption of AI analytics practices.
  • Keep abreast of emerging AI and analytics technologies to continuously improve Eightcap's reporting and insight capabilities.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Business Analysis, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel to perform complex analytical tasks.
  • Proficiency in applying and implementing AI/ML techniques
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to translate data insights into actionable optimisation strategies and recommendations for strategic decision making.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective working relationships across the organisation.
  • Experience in measuring commercial performance and identifying trends and gaps to support business growth.
  • Ideally, exposure to AWS infrastructure components such as Glue, Athena, SageMaker, IAM, VPC, VPC Peering, NAT Gateway, Access Control Lists (ACL), Secret Management, EC2, ECS, and related services.
