About The Opportunity
We are seeking 2 enthusiastic and committed Vacation Student Engineers to join our Greenspace Services team on a term contract, part-time basis for up to 3 months.

The preferred candidates will provide valuable hands-on experience in local government, whilst supporting the delivery of projects and services that enhance Blacktown's parks, open spaces, and community facilities.

You will be currently enrolled as a third or fourth year student, with the intention of completing relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities Of The Role Include

• Assisting in the preparation, monitoring, and implementation of operational management strategies and plans
• Providing information to Council staff and the community
• Contributing to the preparation and delivery of the Works Improvement Program
• Supporting planners in the assessment of development applications
• Liaising effectively with internal teams and external organisations
• Working with City Assets Managers to deliver key Directorate objectives.

Essential
Qualifications and experience

• Currently enrolled as a third or fourth year student, with the intention of completing relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
• Computer Literate.

Desirable

• Current class C driver's licence.

Remuneration And Benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

• $1,046.89 per week, pro-rata
• 21-hour working week
