Where you'll be working
Be part of the dedicated Acute Allied Health team at Blacktown Hospital, part of the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). You'll work between the Cancer Care Outpatient Clinics and the Occupational Therapy Outpatient Clinic, supporting patients in hospital and through home visits.
- Join a multidisciplinary team of dedicated Allied Health professionals, including Occupational Therapists, a Diversional Therapist and Allied Health Assistants.
- Work across Cancer Care clinics and Lymphoedema outpatient services with opportunities for home visits

What you'll be doing
As the Senior Occupational Therapist, you'll deliver advanced Occupational Therapy services across inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on Oncology, Haematology, Palliative Care and Lymphoedema.
- Provide advanced assessment and intervention for Cancer Care Outpatient services and Lymphoedema clinics
- Apply expert clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and sound professional judgement
- Manage a weekly split: three days in Cancer Care and two days in Lymphoedema clinic
- Lead, mentor and provide clinical supervision to Level 1–2 OTs, Allied Health Assistants and students
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and time management skills while working independently and collaboratively
- Contribute to service development, research and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in continuing professional development and attend regular supervision with the Department Head or delegate

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy accepted for registration with AHPRA
- Registration: AHPRA Occupational Therapy
Selection Criteria:
- Current Registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and Current Drivers licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
- Advanced level of clinical knowledge and experience across a range of conditions, including training and experience in lymphoedema management.
- Demonstrated high level skills in verbal, non-verbal and written communication in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary context.
- Demonstrated well developed clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills in an outpatient setting within a multidisciplinary team, with ability to provide clinical services to client groups of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in staff and student supervision.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical / administrative demands.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in service development, risk management and quality improvement initiatives
