Senior Payroll Officer / Team Lead- for Luxury Hotel Group

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Payroll Officer to join a high-performing team based at a head office in the city .This is more than just a payroll role — it's a genuine opportunity to grow ia Team Leader position while gaining exposure to Dayforce Payroll and other modules used across a global business.

About the Role:

  • Hybrid work model – 3 days WFH per fortnight, with standard Monday to Friday hours
  • Ideal for a Senior Payroll Officer ready for a new challenge and career progression
  • Focused on leading payroll operations for Australia and New Zealand

This role plays a key part in training and developing payroll team members while owning end-to-end payroll operations. You will report to the Payroll Manager ANZ and contribute to shaping how payroll functions across the region.

Key Responsibilities: Payroll Planning & Execution

  • Lead and supervise 4 Payroll & HR Administration team
  • Oversee end-of-month and end-of-financial-year processing

Business Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Review and enhance payroll processes regularly
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset, focusing on employee experience in Dayforce
  • Develop and manage KPIs and reporting for leadership teams

Payroll Compliance & Auditing

  • Develop and maintain an annual compliance calendar
  • Conduct regular payroll audits
  • Plan and execute audits for annualised salary awards

About You:

  • 3+ years' experience managing end-to-end payroll (weekly/monthly or for a smaller organisation)
  • Experience with workforce management systems, with the ability to train others
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to supervise and inspire a team
  • Solid understanding of Modern Australian Awards and ability to interpret industrial instruments
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word (intermediate level)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Customer service focus and a genuine passion for supporting team members
  • Highly organised, with exceptional time management
  • Must have unrestricted permanent full-time work rights in Australia
