ASIC is seeking an experienced strategic communications professional to lead high-impact engagement and messaging initiatives across its Registry and Intelligence Group. This role is suited to someone who can quickly absorb complex information, build trusted relationships, and deliver clear, compelling communications that support ASIC's regulatory and operational priorities.

The team
ASIC communications serve multiple audiences, including consumers and investors, employees, media, community, government and industry, and its regulated community. This requires a whole-of-ASIC approach.

ASIC's Communications & Corporate Affairs Group builds and leverages media and strategic stakeholder relationships to improve awareness and understanding of ASIC's mandate and outcomes and enhance ASIC's reputation. It manages external, digital, strategic and internal communications, and delivers ASIC's consumer education and Moneysmart.

The role
As Senior Specialist, Strategic Communications, You Will

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement plans for ASIC's Registry and Intelligence Group.
  • Provide trusted advice to senior leaders on messaging, media, and engagement approaches.
  • Translate complex regulatory and technical content into clear, audience-focused communications.
  • Deliver high-quality content across internal and external channels, including media and social.
  • Collaborate across ASIC to ensure alignment, governance, and best practice in communications.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness, embedding continuous improvement.

About You
You bring deep experience in strategic communications, ideally within financial services, consulting, government, or regulatory environments. You've led integrated campaigns, managed issues and reputational risk, and worked closely with senior executives and technical experts. You're confident developing content across multiple platforms and have a strong grasp of external communications, stakeholder engagement, and media strategy. Experience with data, technology, or registry systems will be highly regarded.

You're proactive, adaptable, and quick to get across new subject matter. You build rapport easily, engage confidently with diverse stakeholders, and work effectively across teams. You're delivery-focused, resilient under pressure, and able to manage competing priorities with sound judgment. Your ability to influence, collaborate, and drive outcomes makes you a valuable partner across the organisation.
