Job Description
Oaks Lake Crackenback resort are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our dynamic Kitchen team on a casual basis.
If you have a love for cooking, a drive to learn, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes, we'd love to welcome you to our team. This role includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts with flexibility required across all seven days, including weekends and public holidays.
As a valued team member, you'll play a key role in supporting our culinary operations by:
- Food Preparation: Assisting with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
- Team Support: Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations during busy periods.
- Kitchen Standards: Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Learning and Development: Taking initiative to develop your culinary skills and grow within a supportive and professional kitchen environment.
Shift Details (subject to change):
- Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
- Split shifts required on some days
Hourly rates (excluding super):
Monday - Friday: $35.15 per hour
Saturday: $42.18 per hour
Sunday: $49.21 per hour
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Hold relevant Certificate III cookery qualifications and previous experience in a similar role.
- Have knowledge about Modern Australian Cuisine
- Have knowledge and understanding of HACCP and OH&S
- Be flexible to work a range of different shifts, including weekends.
- Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment.
- Be able to coach and motivate less experienced members of the kitchen team.
- Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
