About The Lands by Capella

Opening in February 2026, The Lands by Capella will be Sydney's most anticipated luxury events destination. Located within the beautifully restored Department of Lands building next to Capella Sydney, it will feature five architecturally striking venues that combine heritage character with modern sophistication. The Lands will host a wide range of prestigious gatherings including galas, weddings, conferences and cultural showcases. As part of the Capella family, colleagues will play a key role in launching this iconic new venue and delivering exceptional experiences that reflect Capella's commitment to excellence, creativity and hospitality at the highest level.

Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team, assisting in the preparation and execution of a diverse range of dishes for both daily operations and the prestigious events hosted by The Lands by Capella.

The Role:

  • Assists the Chef de Partie in running of the assigned workstation.
  • To produce a consistent, high-quality product and provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times.
  • To have full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned station to the standard set.
  • Be flexible and adapt to required rotation within the Culinary Division.
  • To maintain the general standards of the kitchen as well as the implementation of the kitchen manual rules and regulations for your section.
  • Ensures that all colleagues adhere to guidelines in accordance with the Food, Health, Hygiene and Safety manuals.

Talent Profile:

  • Tertiary education or culinary qualifications.
  • Experiences in a similar role.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Food Safety Hygiene experience.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
