Your Position

As a general hand your day-to-day will include supporting operations through system monitoring, housekeeping, defect reporting, and assisting the maintenance team. Clear communication with colleagues and a commitment to safety will ensure everything runs efficiently and professionally.

This is a shift-based position on a 12-hour rotating roster (4 days on, 4 days off), including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. You'll be working in a temperature-controlled environment and collaborating with a dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-tech facility.

As part of a highly motivated service team, your day-to-day focus will include:

• Monitor Vanderlande equipment and SCADA alarms, respond to operational callouts, assist with system resets, and escalate faults as needed.
• Assist with troubleshooting crane issues, liaise with maintenance teams, and report equipment defects, repetitive faults, and recurring issues promptly.
• Support technicians and engineers with inspections, servicing, minor maintenance, and tool/equipment delivery during breakdowns.
• Maintain workshop areas, manage tooling, carry out housekeeping tasks, and perform manual handling duties safely (including working at heights).
• Perform low-risk maintenance such as pneumatic leak repairs, filter/drive roller/sensor replacements, and ensure issues are resolved effectively with the team and customer.
• Maintain a clean, obstacle-free workspace, take care of company tools/equipment, and report any damage, loss, or misuse promptly.

About you:

• Strong organisational skills with exposure to process improvement initiatives
• Proficient computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
• Comfortable working in cold environments (0°C) with PPE provided
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts on a 4-on / 4-off roster
