About the Vacancy:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join our growing team. This role will support our engineers and project teams in delivering high-quality designs and documentation for a range of mechanical systems and projects.

Position Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Location: Warana QLD 4575

Salary: from $85,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Descriptions:

  • Producing comprehensive mechanical engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Creating 3D models, gathering critical site data, and confirming that drawings reflect real-world conditions.
  • Maintaining team workflows and working closely with engineers and team members to deliver mechanical designing services to clients and ensure quality assurance.
  • Engaging in virtual meetings and coordinating with trades; Problem-solving coordination issues.
  • Preparing and maintaining precise updates on schedules, material quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Supporting research and testing efforts on the BIM360 platform by integrating technology and functions to develop engineering solutions
  • Generating graphical representation and diagrams by compiling data tables and conducting complex engineering calculations and analysis.
  • Assisting in project delivery and collaborating with contractors and other engineering teams in providing organisation and supervision the implementation of engineering plants and equipment.
  • Reviewing design adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and contractual requirements.
  • May work with contractors and site engineering technicians to assist with providing supervision and technical support in installation of the new and modified mechanical engineering plans, systems, machine and/or components such as the following, but not limited to:
  • HVAC
  • Airconditioning
  • Hydraulics
  • Mechanical Machinery

Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks (essential).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards, detailing, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Previous experience in mechanical drafting for HVAC, plant, or industrial projects is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of BIM processes and coordination is desirable.
