Senior Architect – Shape the Future of Banking with Westpac

What's the role?

As a Senior Architect in Westpac Group Technology, you'll play a pivotal role in designing innovative solutions that power our customer engagement domain. You'll work closely with the Principal Architect and a high-performing team to analyse complex business and technology landscapes, develop architectural strategies, and guide projects that transform the way we serve our customers

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse IT solutions to ensure they meet business needs and accurately represent technical requirements through collaboration with users, technology teams, and suppliers.
  • Track technology requirements across all phases and contribute to impact assessments for changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of design methodologies and processes, ensuring compliance with Westpac Group standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders to influence architectural direction.
    Provide expert technology advice to support business strategy and investment decisions.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience in solution architecture within banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of customer-centric journeys and information security principles.
  • Hands-on experience with modernisation initiatives, API integration, and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline
