We are seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in building our Grid Connection team and delivering landmark renewable and hybrid generation projects across Australia.
You'll provide technical leadership on generator and grid connection projects including solar, wind, BESS, and hybrid plants while performing advanced power systems modelling using PSSE, PSCAD and Dig SILENT PowerFactory.
What You'll Do
- Lead Major Projects: Manage a portfolio of R0, R1, and R2 grid connections from planning to execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide Technical Expertise: Conduct steady-state and dynamic power system studies, applying advanced engineering principles to solve complex challenges.
- Drive Strategic Impact: Oversee long-term planning, budgets, and results that advance company-wide objectives.
- Mentor & Guide: Share knowledge across teams, present to high-level customers, and contribute to industry best practice.
About You
- Experienced Engineer: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and at least 10 years relevant experience.
- Specialist Knowledge: Deep understanding of the generator connection process in Australia (Chapter 5 & 5A), with expertise in synchronous or asynchronous generation technologies.
- Tools of the Trade: Proficient in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSSE.
- Leader & Innovator: Recognised for creativity, sound judgment, and the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams.
