About the role

As a Disability Support Worker at Ability&Ambition Pty Ltd, you will be providing essential care and support to individuals with that a part of the NDIS in the Swan Hill VIC region. This is a casual role, offering the flexibility to work around your schedule and commitments. Your primary focus will be to empower and assist Participants in achieving their personal goals and maintaining their independence.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting Participants in their daily living activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and community participation
  • Engaging Participants in recreational and social activities to promote their wellbeing and inclusion
  • Providing transportation to appointments, errands, and social events
  • Documenting Participant progress and communicating with the wider support teams
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care and support to individuals living with a disability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with Participants
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of each Participant
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the local community
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certifications
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check OR WWCC/NCC
  • Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services, or a related field OR willingness to become certified within 12 months of commencement
