**Position Overview**

Priority Disability Care Australia are looking for experienced, caring and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide high quality care and support to our Participants. We are looking for Disability Support Workers who are passionate about empowering our Participants to achieve their goals and are committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and their families.

**Role and Responsibilities**

In this role you will provide support to our Participants with disabilities by encouraging independence with daily living, social support and domestic assistance, both in their home and within the community. You will support with these activities in line with their support care plan. These include but are not limited to:

- **Personal Care**: Assisting with activities of daily living such as, feeding, bathing, dressing and overall personal hygiene maintenance
- **Social support**: providing transport to appointments, assist with shopping/personal tasks, companionship, participation in group outings and community access.
- **Domestic Assistance**: assisting with housework/cleaning, cooking and meal preparation.
- Life skills development
- Engaging and interacting with Participants from all diverse cultures and backgrounds

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 1 year carers experience (including Disability Support Workers, Aged Care, Child Care, Home Support, Nursing, Hospital Care and Assistants in Nursing)
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Working with Children’s Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Check (or willing to obtain)
- Police Check (or willing to obtain)
- Have a qualification in health or community services sector (including Aged Care or other equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle and insurance (essential as Participant transport is part of this role)

**Highly regarded but not essential**
- Experience with individuals with intellectual disability and/or mental health
- Experienced with hoist/manual handling
- Fluency in a second language other than English will be an advantage

**Location**

You will find yourself working in various locations across Sydney so please ensure that you are able to commute for work (including but not limited to, Guildford, Rooty Hill, Villawood, Banksia, Casula, Toongabbie, Campbelltown, Rouse Hill)

**Salary**: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
