# Responsibilities

As a Design Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the design team from early DA concept / Tender to handover of the project
  • Coordinating with internal and external design teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, Hutchies standards and client expectations
  • Planning and programming the design process to keep all stakeholders aligned and on track
  • Driving consultants to complete detailed design and documentation within project timeframes
  • Challenging design solutions with curiosity and flexibility to find efficiencies and improvements
  • Recommending cost-effective construction strategies and integrating them into the design
  • Ensuring contractual obligations are met throughout the design process
  • Co-Managing client relationships with integrity and professionalism to influence positive outcomes
# Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience managing design projects for vertical construction, including multi-storey commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments
  • Strong knowledge of construction-specific legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders
  • A down-to-earth, fun, friendly, and professional approach to your work
  • Ability to review early concept / tender documentation and provide value management, general compliance and buildability input to the project team
  • Able to work with the construction team before and during construction
