Position summary
We are seeking a proactive Marketing Specialist to develop and deliver marketing, communications and business development activities that raise our profile, attract new clients, and support project growth. The role combines strategic planning, content creation, digital marketing, client engagement and marketing administration.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of marketing plans and campaigns to promote architectural services.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities and target markets in the Darwin region and Northern Territory.
- Develop, write and edit marketing materials including proposals, capability statements, project profiles, case studies, newsletters, brochures and press releases.
- Manage and maintain the firm's website content and ensure SEO best practices are applied to increase online visibility.
- Plan, create and schedule social media content across relevant platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook), monitor engagement and implement tactics to grow followers and leads.
- Coordinate digital marketing activities including email marketing, online advertising (e.g., Google Ads, social ads) and analytics tracking (Google Analytics, social metrics) to measure campaign performance and ROI.
- Organise and coordinate events, industry networking, exhibitions, and community engagement activities to increase brand presence.
- Maintain and update client and prospect databases (CRM), manage contact lists and support targeted outreach campaigns.
- Liaise with external suppliers and contractors such as graphic designers, photographers, printers, web developers and media agencies; manage quotes and project deliverables.
- Assist with brand development and ensure consistent application of corporate identity across all communications and materials.
- Monitor and report on marketing KPIs; prepare regular marketing reports and recommendations for improvement.
Selection criteria (Skills and Experience)
- Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in marketing or business development, ideally within architecture, design, construction, property or professional services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear, persuasive copy and produce high-quality proposals and case studies.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media, web content and digital marketing campaigns; working knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics and online advertising.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), content management systems (WordPress or similar), and Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Canva) and basic image editing is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise professionally with clients, consultants and suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- Understanding of the local NT market, indigenous engagement considerations and regional procurement processes is an advantage.
Desirable attributes
- Portfolio of marketing work for professional services or creative firms.
- Experience preparing tender submissions for government or public sector projects.
- Knowledge of architecture practice and terminology to effectively translate design work for non-technical audiences.
Working conditions and benefits
- Based in Darwin, NT. Occasional travel across the Northern Territory may be required for client meetings or events.
