About Us
We're a boutique practice with a tight-knit team, working on projects ranging from considered new build homes, heritage alterations, major renovations, executive residences — even the occasional penthouse.
With several exciting new projects underway and a healthy pipeline ahead, we're looking to welcome a well-rounded professional into our growing team.
About You
You're an architect, experienced graduate, or building designer with a strong grasp of local building regulations, an eye for detail, and a passion for well-resolved interiors. You've worked on high-end residential projects here in Melbourne and take pride in quality outcomes — "good enough" or "leave it to the builder" isn't on your radar.
You're highly proficient in Revit (non-negotiable), and confident with SketchUp and the Adobe Suite. Experience with Endscape/D5/Corona is a bonus but not essential.
Your portfolio will speak for itself, demonstrating a creative yet pragmatic eye, clear and precise documentation at larger and finer grain scales right down to interior detailing. Please ensure a link is provided in your cover letter.
The Role
The role will see you be part of each project end to end. Whilst documentation and production will form the core of the role, there is ample scope for design input, and as we administer every project, have involvement right through construction. You'll be conceptualising ideas with the team one day, crafting presentations the next, liaising with consultants and documenting detailed drawings that you take genuine pride in.
No two days are the same, no two projects are alike, and you'll be excited to be part of a young but quickly expanding studio.
The Studio
We see design as a process, have a flat structure and intend to stay small, nimble and boutique.
Led by two experienced directors, one with a design focus, one with a delivery focus, you'll have ample opportunity to learn and grow.
We're located in South Melbourne, 5mins walk to the market and 2mins from the tram, love a yarn over Friday drinks and a laugh at bad puns.
Requirements
- 2-3 years local experience specifically on design-focused, high end custom single residential homes
- Degree in Architecture or qualified Building Designer
- Strong Revit skills are essential and non-negotiable, as is a solid knowledge of Sketchup, rendering suites, Adobe creative suites, etc.
- An excellent knowledge of details, materials, systems and finishes as well as building regulations, BCA/NCC and Australian Standards
- Confidence working autonomously when required, with a strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills, from clients to consultants, contractors and authorities
- Excellent presentation reflecting our clientele
- Have an easy-going, positive attitude, strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
- Have a soft spot for dogs (as we have a resident 'floor manager')
