About the role
Do you want your work to directly change how people lead and stay safe? At dss+, we deliver safety culture transformation programs with some of the largest mining organisations in Australia. Our work shifts how leaders think, how crews work, and how safety is lived day-to-day.
We're looking for a Senior Consultant who can combine practical experience from mining, operations, safety, or leadership with a passion for coaching and facilitation. You don't need to have "consultant" in your job title already—we'll support and upskill you—but you do need the drive to help organisations achieve lasting cultural change.
Why join us:
We're not advisors on the sidelines—we're implementers and change makers. At dss+ you'll:
- Lead flagship cultural transformation programs in mining.
- Facilitate workshops and training that build leadership capability and strengthen risk awareness.
- Coach leaders at all levels to role-model behaviours that embed safety as a core value, not just compliance.
- Travel extensively (50–70% of the time) to work directly with crews and leaders on site.
- Broaden your skills across operational risk, sustainability, and leadership development projects.
What you'll do:
- Applying your coaching and facilitations skills to support the capability development of operational and functional Leaders.
- Deliver safety culture transformation programs, from workshops to on-site coaching.
- Facilitate training sessions that build confidence, clarity, and accountability in leaders.
- Manage projects end-to-end, bringing structure and practical solutions to client challenges.
- Partner with executives and frontline leaders to embed lasting change.
Who are you today
- Your values align with ours. Living and breathing the dss
+
Core Values and Mission Critical Behaviors and encouraging others to do the same through decisions, policies, actions, etc. More information about our core values can be found here: - Bachelor's in Science, Engineering or Business, MBA, MS preferred.
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, safety, or operations leadership (consulting background is welcome, but not essential).
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills—you're confident engaging people from the pit to the boardroom.
- A problem-solver's mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity and drive action.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm to travel regularly (50–70%) to client sites.
- Curiosity, care, and the ability to connect with people quickly.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and team-working attitude to be able to work in with fast-paced, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
Why this role matters
This isn't just another job. You'll be helping people go home safe, every day. You'll see your impact directly on mine sites and across industries. And you'll join a diverse, global team of consultants, coaches, and industry experts who believe in protecting, transforming, and sustaining organisations for the long term.
Ready to make your impact
Join us at dss+ and help deliver cultural change that lasts.
In return, dss+ assures that you will have the opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing consulting environment. You can build capabilities and deliver meaningful results that clients appreciate and can make you feel proud.
