The role
The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day procurement process by managing purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Reporting to the Purchasing & Sourcing Manager, the Purchasing Officer role will involve competitively quote all requisitions where no contracted substitute exists ensuring compliance with company policies. The Purchasing Officer will work closely with various departments including Group Procurement to facilitate efficient procurement operations and meet internal client's business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the processing and delivery of purchase orders and requisitions though to closure.
- Coordinate and liaise with suppliers to ensure orders of goods and services are delivered in full and on time.
- Resolve any issues related to order discrepancies, delays, or quality concerns and inform the relevant Business Units of any issues in a timely manner.
- Support the Business Units in understanding existing contracts and suppliers' arrangements.
- Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Support the implementation of Group Procurement sourcing projects at property and operational level.
About you
You'll bring the following:
- Experience working within a Purchasing or Quality Control role in the Hospitality, Food or Retail industry would be desirable.
- Well-developed commercial/negotiating/influencing skills with the ability to finalise negotiations within tight deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate good supplier relationship management skills.
