About us:

Brisbane Boys College is an established GPS day and boarding school. The school was founded in 1902 by Mr. Arthur Rudd, who had a vision of moulding boys to be worthy leaders and good citizens – a vision that remains today. The College occupies 13-hectare site four kilometres from the centre of Brisbane and educates boys from Prep to Year 12.

About the Role:

Brisbane Boys' College is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Facilities in a permanent, full-time role.

This senior role is responsible for facilities and grounds management, major capital works, compliance, service contracts, and sustainability initiatives.

You will provide strategic leadership, manage large-scale projects, and ensure our physical environment is safe, functional, and aligned with the College's long-term vision. A key focus of the position is driving sustainability outcomes, optimising energy use, and advancing the College's Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) goals.

About you:

You are an accomplished leader with the ability to balance strategic planning and operational delivery. Confident in managing budgets, contracts, and major projects, you are equally skilled at building relationships with stakeholders and leading high-performing teams. You bring a strong understanding of compliance and sustainability, combined with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

  • Expertise in facilities, construction, and asset management

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment
  • Commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • 5–7 years' experience in a senior facilities leadership role within a large, complex organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, compliance, and project delivery

Mandatory requirements:

  • Adhere to the PMSA Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with College policies, procedures and training requirements, including those related to occupational health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
  • Positively support the College's traditions and Christian ethos.
  • Hold a current blue card or be eligible to obtain a blue card for working with children

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven ability to lead facilities operations, capital works, and sustainability initiatives across complex sites.
  • Experience delivering major projects on time and on budget, with strong contract and resource management skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes, WHS legislation, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to implement effective risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
