About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our talented team at Gallo Yakoo Restaurant in the beautiful regional Narrabri in New South Wales. As our new Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers. This is a full-time role where you will work alongside our dedicated kitchen staff to uphold our reputation for excellence.

What you'll be doing

· Curation of creative and high-quality dishes to serve

  • Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients

· Ordering and sourcing high quality ingredients

  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met

· Interact with business owners to discuss commercial imperatives

· Managing other kitchen staff and commercial cooking aspects of restaurant

  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new menu items
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior kitchen staff

· Assistance with hiring of any new cooking team

What we're looking for

· At least a years' post qualification experience as a Chef, preferably

in high-volume restaurant environment

· Suitable cookery qualification of at least a diploma level or suitable experience

in lieu

  • Preparing and skill in Sri Lankan food and dishes
  • A passion for creating innovative, delicious dishes
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience with inventory management and budgeting
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
