About the Job

We're looking for a skilled Network Systems Administrator to design, maintain, and secure the network infrastructure supporting our critical software solutions. In this role, you'll work under general direction to manage and optimise network systems, ensuring performance, security, and compliance with strict protocols. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement automation, and drive continuous improvements in network reliability and resilience.

What You'll Do

  • Design, maintain, and optimise secure, scalable, and high-performance network and system infrastructure to support critical software development and deployment.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across infrastructure components to ensure resilience, availability, and performance.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of workflows, documentation, and procedures that support operational excellence and service continuity.
  • Plan and manage your own workload across both project and business-as-usual (BAU) activities, ensuring alignment with deadlines and priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with stringent security and governance standards, proactively identifying and addressing risks.
  • Support the adoption of automation and modern infrastructure practices to drive efficiency and reduce manual effort.

What You'll Bring

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently under general direction.
  • Demonstrated experience in network and systems administration within secure or high-compliance environments.
  • Proficiency in managing infrastructure technologies such as compute, storage, backup, and virtualisation platforms (e.g., Linux, vSphere, NSX).
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform).
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory
  • Hands-on experience with configuring and maintaining network equipment such as switches and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security principles and compliance requirements.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive working style

Qualifications

Tertiary Education Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Security Clearance

Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Defence experience is desirable. More information:
