About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical components and systems that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings based on customer requirements or approved design modifications.
  • Generate Bills of Materials and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Collaborate with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet customer expectations and best practices.
  • Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams.
  • Maintain and update design documentation and drawing files.
  • Participate in engineering reviews, working groups, and design forums.
  • Ensure compliance with Tectonica's policies, safety standards, and Quality Management System.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to refine designs and identify improvement opportunities.

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade qualification.
  • Proven experience as a drafter with at least 2 years using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with M1 ERP software (advantageous).
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to estimate drafting hours and manage time effectively.
  • A proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new technologies, tasks, and procedures.
  • Australian Citizenship essential
