VET Trainer and Assessor – CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting & Decorating.

Southern Cross School of Business (SCSB) is a Registered Training Organisation providing industry based vocational education and ELICOS training. SCSB campuses are in Sydney and Melbourne.

SCSB is seeking to employ suitably qualified and experienced Trainer for the Sydney Campus. The success of our courses and growth in student enrolments will be dependent upon excellent delivery and a strong reputation of SCSB teaching staff.

SCSB offers diploma and advanced diploma level VET and various other non-accredited courses. SCSB courses are developed by industry trained professionals that provide practical gateways to career opportunities and/or higher education. We are seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Trainer and Assessor for the following courses:

· CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting & Decorating.

Key Responsibilities

Following are the key areas of responsibility for the required Trainer and Assessors:

● Provide academic leadership.

● Provide quality teaching to students in a face-to-face environment.

● Delivery of courses/units and syllabus effectively and as required.

● Deliver assigned courses in the classroom environment or in the Workshop.

● Effectively utilise and recommend academic resources to assist student learning.

● Facilitate individual and group learning activities in accordance with training schedules.

● Maintain training records in prescribed manner.

● Monitor, mark, and conduct student assessments in accordance with Standards and Checklists.

● Monitoring student activity and ensure they are provided with support for satisfactory course progress.

● Maintaining accurate and reliable attendance and assessment records for all students.

● Participate in moderation/validation sessions as required.

● Review and update assessments in consultation with the Academic Manager/Principal.

● Provide support to students who may be running behind in their course.

● Mark any pending assessments from previous units.

● Maintain and provide records of industry currency.

● Adhering to the requirements of the Standards for RTOs 2015 in all aspects of training and assessment delivery

● Adhere to all SCSB policies and procedures.

Selection Criteria for CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting & Decorating:

To become part of SCSB team as VET Trainer and Assessor- CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting & Decorating, successful applicant should possess the following:

● CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting & Decorating qualification.

● Minimum 6 months post-qualification experience in the above industry as Trainer & Assessor.

● Certificate IV TAE40116 or equivalent.

● High level written and oral communication skills in English and proven ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of educational, industrial or community environments.

● Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service and demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment.

● Flexible, energetic and enthusiastic about training and education.

● Work experience in teaching international students is highly appreciated.

● Ability to easily mix well with others and satisfactorily carry out tasks in liaison with colleagues.

● Must maintain currency in the relevant industry sector.
