We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Institutional Business Developer for a newly created role. What you will be doing
This role is for a true sales hunter and leader —someone with a relentless drive to uncover opportunities, open doors, and win high-value institutional relationships in the Australian market.
- Identify prospects, develop and convert new trading participants, clearing participants and new end users across the product suite.
- Develop relationships with key decision makers within the organisation across trading and clearing functions.
- Promote new products and initiatives, aligning solutions with client objectives to new and existing clearing relationships and maintain regular strategic engagements.
- Deliver against a strategy to approach key customer segments and key product initiatives.
- Work with marketing to educate and engage customers and raise the company's profile through a range of events, sponsorship and content.
- Ensure new clients meet compliance standards and do not pose reputational, regulatory, or financial risk.
- Lead by example and mentor more junior members of staff.
What you require
- Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Finance, or a similar field.
- Proven experience in sales and account management at an institutional level within the financial markets.
- Established network across the Australian market – i.e. proprietary trading groups, hedge funds, Clearers and Buy / Sell side (institutions and brokers).
- Deep understanding of global markets, investment banking, proprietary trading and asset management.
- Awareness of global clearing trends, regulatory requirements and their impact on the domestic market.
- A true hunter mindset. You are naturally proactive, resourceful, and energised by the challenge of breaking into new accounts and converting leads into trusted clients.
- Demonstrated executional excellence in closing sales: you've led full-cycle deals and have a track record of turning prospects into long-term, high-value partnerships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
