Your new role

As a Drill and Blast Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and executing safe, efficient, and cost-effective blasting strategies across our open-cut mining operations. You'll work closely with mine planning, geology, and operations teams to ensure optimal fragmentation, digability, and compliance with environmental and safety standards. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Developing and optimising drill and blast designs using Vulcan and BlastLogic
  • Monitoring blast performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align blasting with production targets
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to a culture of safety and innovation

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in drill and blast engineering within open-cut mining
  • Proficiency in Vulcan and BlastLogic software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement
