DCL Engineering Group is an Australian family-owned company that has been servicing the industry in mechanical breakdown repairs and engineering since 1960, servicing customers through DCL's divisions – Engineering, Gearbox Repairs/AIMS- Asset Integrity & Maintenance Services / Mechanical Machinery Overhauls across Australia.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Sales Representative to join our Port Kembla team and play a key role in managing and nurturing new and existing customer accounts. Your primary responsibilities will include driving sales, hitting revenue targets, providing technical advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction while proactively identifying opportunities for growth.

Key responsibilities of the role include (but not limited to):

  • Identify transmission and repairs sales opportunities and coordinate sales in areas to maximise opportunities.
  • Developing lists of prospective customers and call plans to maximise time spent with customers and sales budget.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by promptly and accurately providing information that enables customers to make informed decisions.
  • Prepare sales forecasts.
  • Effectively manage customer quotes, ensuring a streamlined and efficient handling process from their initial creation to the final delivery stage.
  • Provide customers with technical reports and conduct on-site reviews, as required.
  • Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed including ensuring the highest WH&S standards are always maintained.

Skills and experience

To be successful for this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical Engineering – Trade Certificate III (Fitter and Machinist)
  • 5 years heavy industrial gearbox experience is desirable
  • 5 years technical sales experience is desirable
  • Current Driver's License
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Project & Access
