Job DescriptionWe're seeking a Federal Politics Reporter to join the Nine Radio news network.
Our ideal candidate is a skilled writer who can deliver news that is not only quick and accurate, but also smart, thoughtful, and engaging. Our team is dedicated to fair, balanced, and impartial reporting. We're looking for someone committed to helping us deliver live, local, and breaking news that informs and assists our listeners every day.
Day to day you will:
- Based in Canberra, you will be reporting on federal politics for the Nine Radio network.
- Conduct live crosses for various programs, delivering news in a clear and concise manner.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and contacts to uncover breaking stories.
- Be responsible for breaking down complex political issues into simple, easy-to-understand stories for listeners.
- Operate with an understanding of the rules and regulations of Federal Parliament House.
What you'll bring:
- Sharp attention to detail. Your work will be accurate and meticulously checked.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are essential.
- You'll have a tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Ideally, you have 1-2 years of experience in a broadcast environment.
- A solid understanding of Australia's political system and media law.
