ABOUT THE ROLE
The strategic objective for this role relates to developing and delivering competitions that engage, attract and retain players across the state, providing quality and robust competitions in all forms of our game.
The Competitions Coordinator will ensure professional and effective competition delivery with a focus on communications across a broad range of stakeholders in the development and in season delivery of our Competitions, encompassing key areas such as calendar and fixture development, supporting policies, processes and club compliance.
CORE DUTIES
- Foster proactive and positive relationships within the Rugby Community encompassing clubs, schools, affiliated organisations, service providers and local government.
- Engage as an active member of the competition team to support all RWA sanctioned competitions
- Support colleagues in the delivery of 7's & XV's seasonal competitions
- Lead the delivery of Rugby competition Events (e.g. Finals Series)
- Implement and manage the competition fixtures and general scheduling and provide support to all other competitions
- Provide detailed budget and participation reporting to the GM Community
- In conjunction with the education team, Support and Audit affiliate club's on RugbyWA and Rugby Australia Competition policies and Player Safety requirements
- Professional and effective communication with stakeholders, management and communication of the Competition Calendar
- Coordinate Match Day and competitions special events to enhance engagement and standing
- Support the GM Community on matters related to the judiciary process and Code of Conduct breaches within the competition
- Document and Policy management, development and review
- Delivery of engaging and viable competition formats that attract and retain participants (male and female)
- Coordinate matchday venues to ensure compliance with host management requirements
- Other related areas of activity as prescribed by the RWA GM Community
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 2 years-experience in a similar competitions role within the sport and recreation industry
- Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills and a track record of successful relationship building within a service delivery environment
- Ability to organise, multitask and prioritise.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- A self-starter with a proactive attitude.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive, high performing team.
- Flexible approach to work hours, including the ability to work weekends where required.
- Current, or willingness to obtain, Working with Children clearance.
