Batch Mewing Lawyers is an expert construction and major projects law firm working with clients across Australia and internationally. The firm has developed a reputation for being client and results focused.
We have worked on some of the most significant projects developed and built across Australia. We also advise clients in connection with projects all around Asia, the Pacific, Africa, and South America. Our legal offerings have since expanded to include corporate, commercial and compliance law, and employment, industrial relations, and safety law.
The firm has grown to 30 legal professionals, including 7 Principals, and continues to expand its capabilities in response to the evolving needs of our clients.
About the role
As part of an exciting growth phase, we are seeking to expand our Corporate Services Team with the addition of a part-time Marketing and Business Development Assistant based in Brisbane. This role offers valuable, hands-on experience across a broad range of marketing and client development activities, working closely with senior team members, principals, and lawyers to support the firm's strategic goals.
In this position, you'll play an integral role in supporting the execution of our firm's marketing and client development strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of marketing and business development initiatives across our key practice areas: Construction & Major Projects, Employment & Safety, and Corporate & Commercial.
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of client-facing materials such as newsletters, legal guides and publications, and updating content on the firm's website and social media.
- Supporting the development of marketing collateral including drafting proposals, tenders, team capability statements, practice area overviews, team profiles, and onboarding profiles of new lawyers.
- Assisting with the implementation and tracking of client action and engagement plans, including helping to maintain client databases and engagement activity logs.
- Providing administrative and logistical support for client events, seminars, webinars, and sponsorships – including invitations, RSVPs, asset preparation, and post-event follow-ups.
- Supporting senior lawyers and practice group leaders with their personal marketing efforts, such as profile building, award submissions, and speaking opportunities.
- Maintaining and updating marketing systems and resources, such as image libraries, experience database, and consistency of our visual branding.
- Helping identify and track new business opportunities through market research, competitor analysis, and monitoring industry trends.
- Carrying out general administrative and ad-hoc tasks as required by the broader Corporate Services team, including calendar coordination, document formatting, and team meeting logistics.
Skills and experience
- Currently pursuing or have recently completed tertiary education in a business-related discipline e.g. marketing, communications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe Creative Suite skills desirable but not required.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all organisational levels
