The Director Health Programs will play a key leadership role in ensuring the organisation's health programs are effective, evidence-based and aligned with strategic priorities. The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer,
the Director will oversee the strategic growth of all health service programs across RFDS Vic. The role is responsible for optimising performance, strengthening partnerships with stakeholders and ensuring programs meet financial, operational and clinical standards. It requires a balance of strategic oversight, operational excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of impactful health programs that advance RFDS Victoria's mission and strategic goals
  • Drive innovation and growth, ensuring all initiatives are evidence-based and deliver measurable community outcomes
  • Oversee performance across budgets, operations and workforce to meet key organisational targets
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships that strengthen service reach, quality and efficiency
  • Embed rigorous evaluation and compliance systems to ensure excellence and continuous improvement
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing team committed to collaboration, accountability and results

About You

You are an accomplished senior leader in health program operations and clinical service delivery with experience across geographically diverse environment You combine strong strategic and analytical capability with a practical, people-centred approach and can navigate complex stakeholder environments with clarity and confidence

You Will Bring

  • Postgraduate qualifications in health, management or governance, with strong credentials in clinical or public health leadership
  • A proven record of leading complex, multidisciplinary health programs across large or multi-jurisdictional systems
  • Deep expertise in healthcare operations, including commissioning, billing and service delivery at scale
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating and managing high-value contracts and partnerships
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing government grants and funding streams
  • Sharp understanding of emerging health system trends, digital health innovation and technology-enabled service delivery
