CMI Electrical Products are specialists in the manufacture and distribution of electrical cables and associated components for industrial, mining, infrastructure, commercial, petrochemical and information technology applications throughout South East Asia and Oceania. CMI is a fully owned subsidiary of the IPD Group.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solutions-focused and customer-facing Business Development Manager to join our team, based in Noble Park.

About the Role:

Reporting to the State Sales Manager, you will be responsible for supporting customers in selecting the most suitable CMI electrical products to meet their specific needs and technical requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date and accurate customer database.
  • Managing assigned territory and implementing structured call plans.
  • Conducting face-to-face sales meetings to promote CMI's electrical product range and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets by developing new business opportunities through proactive engagement and assisting with market research.
  • Conducting all sales and customer interactions in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in alignment with CMI's QHSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Negotiating for the highest possible margin during product sales while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Raising and documenting non-conformance reports related to customer complaints, product issues, or internal quality concerns affecting safety, quality, or environmental compliance.
  • Providing weekly call reports to the sales team for analysing trends and suggesting improvements.

About You:

  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales, preferably within the electrical industry.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical products, and industrial, mining, and wholesaling industries.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and workplace health and safety practices.
