The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) leads the delivery of justice services in Victoria, supporting the strategic objective of "building a high performing justice system". The recruitment services unit is pivotal to its success.
Recruitment Services deliver a range of practical and innovative solutions to source and select the best front-line and leadership talent for our department. Our team is made up of passionate, quick-thinking individuals who come together in collaboration to deliver exceptional service.
The Prisons recruitment team manage pivotal roles across thirteen Correctional facilities. This includes the recently opened facility in Western Plains Correctional Centre and the courts system. The facilities offer integral services aimed at reducing reoffending and give people the skills to make the most of their lives when they return to the community.
The Senior Talent Partner provides expert advice and support across all talent related activities ranging from sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, reference checking, offer management and outcome advice. Additionally, demonstrated capability in the design, implementation and training of best practice recruitment processes is required.
Pivotal to success in this role is the ability to listen to stakeholders and influence via regular consultation, the ability to meet delivery timelines, lead proactive attraction campaigns and future workforce planning, and the review of current and previous processes with a mindset of improvement and innovation, as well as ensuring all recruitment delivery aligns to departmental policies, procedures and values.
You will possess considerable recruitment knowledge and gravitas to respond to queries from senior staff members and the ability to provide sound and accurate advice to more junior members of Recruitment Services. You will use your operational understanding of the business to develop and deliver recruitment strategies that ensure selection of the most suitable applicants for Corrections Victoria.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- A significant breadth of recruitment knowledge and experience, able to independently manage the full recruitment lifecycle and proactive candidate sourcing strategies.
- Demonstrated understanding of the labour market including current and emerging economic, social, and political levers for labour trends on a local, regional and global basis.
- Prior recruitment experience and understanding of a rolling recruitment model would be highly desirable.
- Expert-level knowledge of best practice recruitment principles, assessment centre selection practices, including work simulations, psychometric testing and validity measurements.
- Subject matter knowledge and professional experience in designing, implementing, and coordinating various recruitment selection tools and methodologies (e.g. campaign volume recruitment, end-to-end recruitment, executive recruitment).
- The ability to build effective relationships with peers, senior managers and stakeholders, with a focus on understanding stakeholder issues and gaining cooperation.
- A history of being able to contribute to recruitment strategic projects and continuous improvement processes.
A qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or other relevant discipline is desirable.
