Social Worker, Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

We're excited to welcome a Social Worker to our Rehabilitation Unit at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The staff at the Rehabilitation Unit at SCUH are a multidisciplinary team providing highly complex specialised rehabilitation. Areas of clinical practice include acute head injuries, multi trauma, neurological conditions, neurodegenerative disease, amputations, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions.

The Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) Rehabilitation service aims to provide evidence-based care for patients with complex rehabilitation needs. The service goal is to maximise independence and improve or restore patient's functional status. A holistic approach is utilised to assist patients in regaining both their physical and physiological health. As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, we deliver high level Social Work clinical services across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).

Key Responsibilities include:

Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of [discipline] services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols. For complex or novel cases, you will seek direction from clinical seniors as appropriate.

Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems (statistics collection, quality data). Ensure that time spent across clinical and non-clinical work is in keeping with assigned requirements.

Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $132,567 p.a., comprising salary rates: $ $58.59 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (Fixed term temporary part time, 60.8 hrs p.f position available for 12 months, 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday).
