We have an exciting opportunity for two motivated and skilled professionals to join our growing Information Technology Team in newly created Information Services Officer positions that will play a vital role in shaping the future of information management within Council.

We're looking for individuals who bring not only strong technical capabilities but also creative, out-of-the-box thinking to help us explore new approaches, improve systems, and enhance the way we manage and use information. Each role is positioned at a different level within our team structure—one at GOS3 and the other at GOS4—providing a career pathway for candidates with varying levels of experience and expertise in digital records, data governance, and information management.

The GOS3 position offers a hands-on opportunity to support the full information lifecycle, deliver excellent customer service, and contribute to system support, compliance, and training across Council's digital platforms. The GOS4 position, while also involved in core information management responsibilities, will have a stronger focus on data analysis, legacy data migration, and providing support on delegations and governance practices. Both roles will work closely with the Applications Lead and broader IT team to ensure Council's records, systems, and applications are effectively managed, secure, and compliant with legislative requirements and organisational objectives.

To be successful in this role you will require

  • Solid understanding of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS), metadata standards, classification schemes, digital information best practices.
  • Relevant experience to support the full information lifecycle including the creation, classification, storage, access, archiving, retention and disposal of records.
  • Ability to promote best practice in information management by providing onboarding support, delivering training, and building staff capability to ensure consistent and compliant use of Council's information systems.
  • Manage and support SharePoint sites including content updates, permissions, and site structure to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, judgement, initiative and sensitivity in the performance of duties and dealings with members of the public and staff.
