Primary objective

Provide advice and develop communications materials and contribute to communications activities for Digital Project Services and associated

portfolio of Projects and Programs.

Context statement

Digital Project Services (DPS) delivers very complex, high value, and high-risk digital programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives for

core frontline services through an inter-agency collaborative approach. Working closely with the client Agencies, the team comprises of public

sector employees and contractors working together to deliver multiple streams of activity as programs are implemented. The work environment

is dynamic, fast paced and results driven with high expectations of superior service delivery.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Develop communications materials including web content, newsletters, and various presentations in line with communications plans to support

engagement of both internal resources within DPS and external stakeholders.

2. Apply contemporary communication and effective messaging methodologies to develop and maintain core communication and messaging

collateral materials, ensuring all communications are tailored and relevant to the intended audience.

3. Research and apply UX/HCD (human centred design) principles and practices in the development of communication and messaging collateral

materials.

4. Provide quality services and advice to Project Managers/Program Directors to collaborate on strategies, plans and actions required for effective

communication and stakeholder engagement.

5. Establish and effectively manage professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external key stakeholders.

  1. Actively participate as a member of the DPS Division, contributing innovative ideas and solutions to support Projects and Programs.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. High level written communication skills necessary for the formulation of a wide range of quality communication materials, and the ability to

translate complex IT concepts into simple and clear language tailored to internal and external stakeholders, including system end-users.

2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of contemporary strategic marketing and communications trends, principles and methodologies

including publishing (web), media, UX/HCD and advertising.

  1. Well-developed cross-cultural communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain productive relationships

with a network of people from diverse backgrounds internally and externally.

4. Knowledge of the operations of government and ability to work with communications processes including correct use of logos, mandatory

templates, and protocols.

5. High level design and development skills using tools such as Microsoft 365 Office Suite, SharePoint, Jira, and or Adobe Pro and Illustrator and

other IT design tools such as Figma.

  1. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, effectively manage competing priorities and remain agile in a fast-paced working

environment.

  1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,

accountability, impartiality, diversity, and respect.

Desirable

1. Qualifications in, Communications, Marketing, UX/HCD or graphic design.

2. Experience in a large-scale, multi-year project environment.
