Throwers Fish and Chips is a family-owned restaurant serving up fresh, flavourful fish and chips and Asian food in a warm, welcoming environment. We pride ourselves on fast, friendly service and delicious meals made to order.

Key Responsibilities

Menu & Food Preparation

  • Plan and develop menus, including seasonal specials, cost estimates, and portion controls.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to meet company standards.

Kitchen & Staff Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Train, mentor, and guide junior cooks and kitchen assistants.
  • Maintain rosters and assist in scheduling staff to meet operational needs.

Operational & Food Safety

  • Order and manage stock, monitor inventory, and control food costs.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health & safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Conduct regular checks on equipment and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher (or equivalent overseas qualification).
  • At least 1 years' experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
  • Demonstrated ability in menu planning, stock control, and staff supervision.

Trading Hours: 4-8PM weekdays and 11:30AM to 8:00PM weekend.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour
